Having a domain name for your blog is essential if you are serious on it. People tends to trust more on blogs that are using their own domain name rather than blogspot.com or wordpress.com as your are paying for your own domain name and not something that you can register millions out there at not cost. People will know that you are serious on blogging for digging out money to get a domain name, and you will gain more exposure in return.

What do you do if you could not afford a domain name, or could not get one as you do not own a credit card or a PayPal account? There are three ways, the first one is to find free domains offer over the internet. There are some forums that give out free domain names when you reach a certain condition like a handful of high quality forum posts. The second way is to find a sponsor for your domain, your sponsor will buy you the domain name under a certain condition like linking them back.

The third way is by joining this contest. It is open to all bloggers who are using free services like blogspot.com, wordpress.com, xanga.com or similar websites ONLY. Your free blog must be at least one month old, meaning that you cannot create a splog on these free sites solely to enter the contest.

How To Enter

Tell your readers about any one post that you liked on Blogclout. If you can’t decide your favourite post, than then (Ankesh made a mistake here) simply review the blog. And link to that post and/or the blog.

Winner will be chosen randomly on 1st of September and the winner will get a GoDaddy gift card for free and it can be used to buy a domain on GoDaddy.com
